About the college

School of Social Work

The School of Social Work focuses on human rights, community empowerment, and social justice. Guided by CMO No. 39, Series of 2017, the Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) program provides a generalist field framework that prepares students for immediate integration into welfare agencies and community development efforts. The school focuses on field research, case file management, and human behavior analysis to prepare graduates for the national Social Worker Licensure Examination and impactful careers in NGOs or public social services.

Mission

Sulu State College (SSC) is committed to develop academic stalwarts and globally competent professionals, producing cutting-edge research and technologies for sustainable development; engage in partnership and viable resource generation programs.

Goals and objectives

1. To offer appropriate coursework that will develop the student’s degree of competence in his/her chosen field of specialization necessary for immediate gainful employment, or as foundation for further training beyond the baccalaureate degree.
2. To encourage the development of human and humane knowledge in the Arts, Sciences and Humanities through accessible and contemporary education.
3. To develop critical thinking, effective communication, sound judgment, and formation of values.

Bachelor of Science in Social Work
