Sulu State University (SSU), in collaboration with the International Philippine School in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, successfully conducted a Book Donation Program titled “A Legacy of Learning”, held at the University as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen academic partnerships and expand access to learning resources.
The program formally opened with an invocation, followed by the welcome message of Dr. Alijandrina T. Jalilul, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing quality education and fostering intellectual growth among students.
This was followed by a message from Mr. Abdelrahman Alfad, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Philippine School in Jeddah, who underscored the institution’s commitment to supporting educational development through meaningful resource-sharing initiatives.
A representative from the International Philippine School in Jeddah formally introduced the partner institution and reaffirmed its continued dedication to strengthening educational cooperation through initiatives that promote learning and cultural exchange.
The Turnover and Acceptance Ceremony formally marked the transfer of the donated books to Sulu State University, symbolizing strengthened collaboration between institutions committed to advancing education and expanding learning opportunities.
The program concluded with a message from Asst. Prof. Firash Zhed S. Ututalum, Director for Student Affairs and Services, who emphasized that the initiative reflects collaboration, shared purpose, and the enduring value of education in shaping future generations.
As the program drew to a close, SSU extended its deepest gratitude to all partners and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the initiative, most especially the International Philippine School in Jeddah, led by Mr. Abdelrahman Alfad, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and his wife Ma’am Nora Alfad. Special recognition was also given to Hon. Nurjam Alfad, Councilor of the Municipality of Jolo, for his support and presence.
The University also expressed appreciation to the Provincial Government of Sulu led by Hon. Abdusakur Toto Tan II and Vice Governor Hon. Abdusakur M. Tan for its unwavering support and collaboration. The initiative reflects the power of partnership, shared commitment, and community engagement in advancing education and empowering future generations.
