Sulu State University formally conducted the Pre-Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2026 at the SSU Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, Walled City, Jolo, under the inspiring theme, “Legacy in Motion: A Testament of Excellence.”on June 4, 2026, at SSU Gymnasium.

The ceremony commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the SSU Hymn, setting a solemn and celebratory atmosphere for the graduating class.
Words of welcome were delivered by Avegirl G. Ronie, Magna Cum Laude, Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies, who warmly greeted the graduates, parents, faculty members, and distinguished guests gathered for the occasion.
One of the highlights of the program was the introduction of the guest speaker by Assoc. Prof. Alijandrina Tan-Jalilul, Ed.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs. She formally welcomed Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho, Ed.D., R.N., Executive Director of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., who served as the distinguished guest speaker.
The program continued with the distribution of diplomas, led by Assoc. Prof. Alijandrina Tan-Jalilul, Ed.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs, and assisted by Ms. Lyn D’ Amor E. Moreno, RN, University Registrar and Overall Chairman of the 44th Commencement Exercises. The conferral process was further supported by the deans and academic leaders of the University's various colleges and schools.
Following the distribution of diplomas, Ayesha Tautuh Sarabi, Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, led the Pledge of Loyalty, signifying the graduates’ commitment to uphold the ideals and values of their alma mater.
The graduates were then formally inducted into the Sulu State University Alumni Association (SSUAA) by Hon. Hussin U. Amin, DHum, EdD., DPA, President of the SSU Alumni Association and Member of the SSU Board of Regents, officially welcoming them into the growing community of SSU alumni.
The program concluded with a closing message delivered by Prof. Nelson U. Julhamid, Ph.D., Vice President for Administration and Finance Management, who congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence while carrying the University's legacy wherever they may go.
The Pre-Commencement Exercises served as a meaningful prelude to the 44th Commencement Exercises, celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 and affirming Sulu State University's commitment to producing competent, compassionate, and globally competitive graduates whose legacy remains in motion through excellence and service.
